Safety Tips from your Neighborhood Watch

LIGHTS  LIGHTS  LIGHTS

Get the idea?

It is proven that if you have outdoor lights it is a deterrent for a break in.

It can be as simple and inexpensive as a motion detector light by your garage or other locations in your yard. These lights are at the home improvement stores for around $35.00 - $40.00.

Another deterrent is to have low voltage landscape lighting, especially in your rear yard. Again available at the home improvement stores around $60.00 for a small set that is pre boxed.

I also think it is a good idea to have interior night lights throughout the home that have built in sensors in them so the automatically go on when it gets dark and auto off during the day.  I have seen them packaged is a set of 4 at the home improvement stores for around $10.00.

If we incorporate lighting into our homes we are taking the best step we can in deterrence.

Of course security systems, with or without cameras will even be another step we can take as well. Those prices will vary depending on the level of security you choose.
